Terms of use
The agreement between you and VidFeather when you use the app or buy Pro. Written to be read.
Last updated November 1, 2026
1. The agreement
These terms apply when you download, install or use the VidFeather app (“the app”) or buy a VidFeather Pro license. By using the app you accept them. If you don’t, please don’t use the app.
2. Your license to use the app
VidFeather grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app. The free version may be used on any number of Macs and compresses up to 3 videos in full. A Pro license lets you use the app without that limit on up to 3 Macs that you own or control at the same time. You may move a license between your Macs by deactivating one and activating another.
You may not:
- share, publish, sell or rent your license key, or let others activate it;
- remove, bypass or disable the license check or the free limit;
- copy or redistribute the app, except the open-source components under their own licenses.
The app is licensed, not sold. VidFeather keeps all rights to the app that these terms don’t give you.
3. Open-source components
The app includes open-source software, such as FFmpeg, x265, GPAC and ExifTool, each under its own license. Those licenses govern those components, and nothing in these terms limits your rights under them. See open-source licenses.
4. Buying Pro
Pro is a one-time purchase sold through Lemon Squeezy, which acts as reseller and merchant of record. Lemon Squeezy’s terms of sale apply to the payment itself. Prices are shown in US dollars; Lemon Squeezy adds any sales tax or VAT that applies where you live. Refunds are covered by our refund policy. A refunded or charged-back purchase ends the Pro license.
5. Activation
Pro is activated online and refreshed about once every 30 days. If refreshing isn’t possible, Pro keeps working for another 30 days. What is sent during activation is described in the privacy policy.
6. Your videos
Your videos stay yours; we claim no rights to them, and the app processes them only on your Mac. The app never removes an original from your Photos library unless you ask it to and confirm in macOS, and even then the original goes to Recently Deleted, where Photos keeps it for 30 days.
Compressing video removes information by design. Before you permanently delete any original, check that its copy is what you want, and keep a backup of anything you cannot replace. The app saves each original to a folder on your Mac to make that easy.
7. Updates
We may release updates that fix problems, add features or change how features work. These terms apply to updates too.
8. No warranty
We work hard to make VidFeather reliable and check every copy it makes, but the app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We don’t promise that it will be free of errors or meet every need.
9. Limits on liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, VidFeather is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, including loss of data, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by contract.
10. Ending the agreement
You can stop using the app at any time. If you break these terms, your license ends and you must stop using the app. Sections 6, 8 and 9 continue to apply.
11. Trademarks
VidFeather and its icon are our trademarks. Apple, Mac, macOS, iCloud and Photos are trademarks of Apple Inc. Dolby Vision is a trademark of Dolby Laboratories. VidFeather is not affiliated with or endorsed by Apple or Dolby.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms and will change the date at the top when we do. Changes don’t take away anything you already paid for.
